Summary of Activities for the English Pastoral Program 2012

-        Retreat for the Cursillo Movement in Japan: attended by 30 participants.

-        We also facilitated recollections for the Churches of Toyoshiki, Goi and Akabane.

 

  1. Advent Recollection: Couples for Christ, Cursillo Movement in Japan, Akabane, Choshi, Koiwa and Goi Church

 

 

  1. Production/distribution of multi-media materials:

Kalakbay – we were able to resume the regular number of publication (10times a year) for 2012.

Good News! Ketai mail is sent every morning throughout the whole year.

Nishi-Chiba

  • English mass every 1st Sunday of the month and catechism  
  • joins English mass community meeting
  • assist in the organization of the different ministries

 

Umeda Church

  • English mass every 4th Sunday of the month
  • monthly adult catechism every 2nd Sunday of the month

 

Togane

  • assist in Sunday liturgy every 3rd Sunday of the month
  • accompany the Home Enthronement Group (quarterly)
  • give Pre-Baptism Seminar, if needed

 

Goi

  • English mass every 2nd Sunday
  • catechism every 4th Sunday of the month
  • Tagalog confessions during Lent and Advent
  • contribute Sunday Good News/Thoughts for the community weekly newsletter
  • conducted the Lenten recollection last year

 

Kisarazu

  • English mass on the 2nd Sunday of the month (3 times only)
  • Tagalog confessions
  • Recollection in Tagalog

 

Narashino

  • Tagalog confessions during Advent and Lent
  • Catechism after mass (until Easter last year)

 

 

Toyoshiki

  • give Lenten or Advent Recollection every year
  • sometimes accompany block rosary in the area

 

Kiyose

  • Tagalog mass every 3rd Sunday of each month
  • Tagalog confessions before mass
  • Catechism after the mass

 

Ichikawa

  • join the English mass community meeting every 1st Sunday of the month

 

Koiwa

  • With a Filipino seminarian, conducted the Advent recollection for the community
  • Every 1st Saturday of the month, bible study with the 1st Saturday devotees

 

Kasai

  • Sometimes accompany the block rosary (give Gospel explanation) (2nd Sat)

  • majority of the active community members are young professionals and they enjoy the catechism and some relevant topics about life skills every after mass
  • individual counselling whenever there is a request

  • the community is active in the church choir only and the one who takes care of the English mass is still assigned to a Japanese volunteer
  • individual counselling whenever there’s request

  • Tagalog mass every 1st and last Wednesdays of each month

  • Help assign priests for each Sunday mass and other special celebrations
  • Helps in the regular confession program of the elementary and high school

  • Catechism for El Shaddai Kids (every 5th Sunday of the month)
