2010年末の外国人登録者数は約213万人です。
20年前と比べて、約２倍に増加しました。
カトリック信徒の多いブラジル（23万人）、フィリピン（21万人）、ペルー（5万人）、ベトナム（4万人）等からの移住者の増加によって、日本のカトリック教会は、日本人信徒より外国人信徒が多くなったと推計されています。

At the end of year 2010, the number of registered foreigners in Japan has reached 2,130,000. This number has doubled compared to twenty years before.
With the increase of migrants from the Brazil(230,552), Philippines(210,181),Peru(54,636),Vietnam(41,781)etc. where a good number of Catholics come from, it is estimated that in the Catholic Church of Japan, the foreign Catholics out-number the Japanese Catholics.
